How much do I feed my dog?

A RUFF FEEDING GUIDE:

As a general rule of thumb you would feed an adult dog 2.5% of it's adult bodyweight. For example an adult dog weighing 30 kilos (66lbs) would be fed 0.75 kilos or 1lb 6.5oz daily. If he is overweight or underweight you would adjust the percentage fed to compensate for this. Puppies between 7 and 10 weeks you should be between 8.5% and 10% The older the puppy gets the more the food is decreased as his bodyweight will increase.

There are various factors which can impact the amount of raw food that your dog will require. It’s important to take these into account when calculating your requirements. These factors can include:

● The age and breed of your dog.
● How much exercise your dog gets.
● Your dog’s dietary plan, do they need to lose weight, gain weight or maintain weight.
●Your dog’s metabolism.

Feeding requirements for puppies are different. Puppies grow fastest in the first 5 months, therefore puppies should be fed between 2-3% of their expected adult weight, per day. Meals should be given to puppies 3 times a day up to 6 months old. After that, moving to twice-daily feedings after 6 months.

Dog Weight - Food per Dog @ 2.5%
4kg (8.8lb) - 10kg (22lb) - 100g - 250g
10kg (22lb) - 20kg (44lb) - 250g - 500g
20kg (44lb) - 30kg (66lb) - 500g - 750g
30kg (66lb) - 40kg (88lb) - 750g - 1000g
40kg (88lb) - 50kg (110lb) - 1000g - 1250g
50kg (110lb) - 60kg (132lb) - 1250g - 1500g
The above is a guide only, as individual dogs’ requirements will vary depending on activity level, age and environment. Please ensure fresh drinking water is always available.
